Poem of the Month

Every month I will put a line or stanza from a different poem on the top of this page. Here I will link the poem so it can be read by all.

This poem happens to be one of my all time favorites. Where did I first hear the poem you might ask? In class? While reading? At a poetry reading? The answer is none of the above! I first heard this poem performed by the band La Dispute. Here is the link to that song. This poem connected with me on a very personal level and made me think about about love and relationships, frienships, myself, and tulips.

Watch Poet Ali give a talk about language. In this video Ali shows the crowd how universal language can truly be. Consider how many languages you know, and what does language truly mean?

In addition to the monthly poem, I will post a new ted talk that I find interesting.
